Owner, Realm Psychotherapy & Integration
Mental health has always been Clare’s calling. As a teen and a young adult, she struggled with identity and finding her place in the world. Experiencing the value of psychotherapy as a young person granted her both healing and the inspiration to serve others.
For more than a decade, Clare has worked in a variety of mental health settings, from private practice to correctional health services, all of which have taught her much about the human psyche and differentiated needs of the individual. Her experiences as both an ongoing mental health patient and a practitioner led her to found Realm, a private practice that is centered around compassion, self-discovery, and the human experience. She prioritizes meeting people at their level, building trust and relationships, and engaging with clients as the experts in their own healing.
“There is often an innate knowing when something within us needs to change, but the difficulty lies in trusting our abilities to create that change.” - Clare Battle, LPC, Realm Psychotherapy & Integration
Throughout her experiences, Clare discovered that all people have the necessary tools within them to navigate life. As a practitioner, Clare’s work prioritizes helping clients to look deep within themselves to develop their identity and implement the philosophy that we all hold the tools to process and realign our mental and emotional disconnects. Offering transparency of her personal experiences and her ability to listen and understand from a place of compassion set Clare apart in her work as a therapist.
Trained in supporting MDMA-assisted psychotherapy Preparation, Treatment, and Integration through the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, Clare’s practice is trauma-focused, aiming to treat those who view the world from a lens of pain and discomfort. She understands that trauma suffering takes on many forms and may show up in the strangest of places. If left untreated, symptoms can manifest as chronic anxiety/fear, depression, and overall dis-ease. Her real-life experiences working within a correctional facility brought her face-to-face with the complexities of trauma and the human condition. Immersion in such a challenging clinical setting taught Clare much about herself as a therapist, and the people she aims to serve, and brought her an immense amount of knowledge that she has carried over to her private practice.
As a lifelong learner, Clare is committed to the constant development of herself, her profession, and the unique perspective of her clients. Holding a Master’s in Education in Clinical Psychology, Clare not only believes that education has an important place in self-discovery, but she has the unique ability to approach individuals as they are and help her clients truly understand their experiences with therapy. Throughout her training and work, she has learned that the more individuals understand what they are going through, the greater the results and the deeper the experience. Clare implements coaching into her practice to help aid her clients’ mental health journeys by setting clear expectations and walking her clients through each step of their care.
Clare is a passionate advocate for psychedelic medicine and educates clients, peers, and the public on its many non-traditional benefits that contribute to individual and collective consciousness. She has built Realm to act as a safe container for individuals engaging in non-ordinary states of consciousness healing and exploration. A member of the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies and the American Society of Ketamine Providers, Clare supports the growth of MDMA and psychedelic plant medicines and hopes their benefits will become widely available and recognized for therapeutic use.
In addition to trauma-focused services, Realm provides traditional psychotherapy specializing in attachment, anxiety, depression, addictive processes, existential crises, life transitions, and psycho-spiritual growth.
I believe suffering results from a disconnection between ourselves and our authentic nature. If we can identify how to transform our suffering, we can integrate all parts of ourselves into our psyche harmoniously. I am trained in various therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Jungian and Transpersonal perspectives.
Through genuine human connection, shared vulnerability, compassion, empathy, love, authenticity, safety, and trust, we can learn how to heal, liberate ourselves, and live peacefully with ourselves, within our relationships, communities, and our environment.
